Details

In openoffice 2.0.3, one can choose the style of the filepicker dialog by un-clicking the option to use OO's standard filepichker in the Options/General Tab): In Gnome you can have the standard Gnome filepicker dialog instead of the regular OO one and that gives access to removable media for example.

This does no work with Kde as the above option is not offered.

probably sun doesn't include kde support in their binaries, so problem can only be solved with own compiles.
we have no date when this will happen, but we are aware of haveing a native OO build would be better.

Thank you Tobias. If this is the situation, I think you can close the bug.

However, I would support the move to a native OpenOffice build on Arch. I don't think I can compile it myself on a 500 MHz PIII.

tpowa, we did try building openoffice natively and it builds and works reliably. Gnome integration fully works ( gtk menus and gtk filepicker ) but KDE integration works only partially ( kde menus but no kde filepicker ).
I'm still working with shastry on this.

the state: kdefilepicker would mean too much of patching to get it work in our compiled packages. for now there's no (fast and easy to maintain) solution to integrate it. we will have to accept that OOo is still a gtk2 based application!
