Details
Description:
No display after installation on a fresh disk. The same works for other OS like windows, ubuntu etc on dual boot. Also display works during initial installation steps. Additional info: * package version(s) * config and/or log files etc. bug exists for all display managers like xorg, kde etc. Tried installing multiple times with same result. I had to do a workaround by switching monitor cable to HDMI. Steps to reproduce: 1. Fresh installation on desktop which has multiple display ports like HDMI, VGA and DVI. 2. Connect monitor to Display port 3. Do a fresh install of Arch Linux latest version using Pen drive (prepared using rufus usign dd) 4. Notice during installation of display the display goes blank. |
This task depends upon
1) What is happening
2) When it is happening
3) What you expect to happen
Also, the title says DVI, the description says DisplayPort.
I installed using 100% exact steps as mentioned in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF7Y8IH5A3M
I feel the x-windows display goes to wrong port and instead of display appearing on current monitor it goes to hdmi even when no hdmi cable is attached.
That may be the reason why it works when i switch display cables to same PC and monitor (My monitor has VGA, Displayport and HDMI inputs)
Hope it helps.
