I modify /etc/pam.d/kde in order to unlock kwallet on login.
These changes get clobbered whenever plasma-workspace is updated
since this file is not in PKGBUILD backup.
For reference, the sddm package has etc/pam.d/sddm in backup.

To unlock kwallet on login you need to modify the pam file of your DM (and for sddm not even that), not kde's one.

I do not use a DM, just xinit & startkde.
Editting pam.d/kde was the only way I could find to unlock kwallet on startup.
