Description: After the recent upgrade (2017-10-08) to version 4.8.1-1, kmymoney is only in english although my locale is correctly configured (all other KDE applications are in french and french is stated as my preferred language in plasma configuration).
Downgrading to the previous version of kmymoney solves the problem, without modifying the locale and plasma configurations.

Additional info:
* package version(s) : kmymoney 4.8.1-1. DE: plasma
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce: upgrade kmymoney to the latest version.

Reason for closing:  Upstream
Additional comments about closing:  Let me know if you spot any new tarball. The upstream bug is closed and I see no new file available since end of September. Don't want to have this bug report for ages.

I can confirm this. My KDE system language is german, but after the latest update kmymoney is only displaying the english UI. Kind of annoying, because (having a technical and scientific background) financial terms are a bit of a blind spot regarding my english skills…

I have the same issue in Italian exactly as the others.
Reverting to 4.8.0-5 "solves" the issue.

The same goes for me. I'm using a Spanish environment, but this version of kmymoney has become English only.

I brought this upstream a few days ago and their WTF answer was that "this is the source for Windows, the source for Linux will be released soon"

@Antonio Rojas
Are you saying that they said that the archlinux package is built with the source code for Windows?

/usr/share/locale/kde4/de/LC_MESSAGES/kmymoney.mo is missing in this package, copying it from the previous version works.

@robert r,
Thanks for the tip. It works!

Is it worth it? I mean, downgrading works. I can wait until a proper fix is released. I'm not a big fan of installing files that do not belong to a package officially.

Don't bother Alejandro. I think we can wait until a fix. My post was only a confirmation of the cause of this bug.

I also have the same problem for three weeks.
My system is configured in french and kmymoney is in english since the last update

Please do not just reply with a "me too", this is why you can vote for a bug ticket (to indicate that you too are affected). "me too" comments do not contribute anything useful and merely serve to obscure important discussion.

@antonio: Can you provide the link to your upstream bug report?

@robert: Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, this doesn't work for the F1 Help manual, too.

Are now waiting for the "Linux release". I wonder why it takes so long to fix this.

Interesting definition of "tomorrow"... maybe ask them what is holding things up?

They can't seem to get their translations straight... https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381786

And all this fuss just to release a patch update to the latest KDE4 version - can't imagine how long they're going to take to release a working KF5 version at this pace[/rant]
