Details

Some Applications aren't rendering fonts properly.

I've noticed these problems in Google Chrome 61.0.3163.100, Discord, pavucontrol and nemo.

Downgrading to 2.8-2 resolves the issue.

Unfortunately I don't have any steps to reproduce.

I also see this issue with wine.
I think it is because the [2.8.1-1 commit](https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/commit/trunk?h=packages/freetype2&id=d1784850b00281e7ad1c0f7e980ea46fb4fec01d) removed the subpixel rendering patch. Why is it removed?

The issue in wine is fixed by version 2.18-2. It was the only "app" with this problem for me.
