Description:
There are several Editors for Mediawiki, see here for a list: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Editor Arch Wiki currently uses the 2006-core-Editor. This Editor is deprecated and will be removed in MediaWiki 1.30. We should therefore switch to a newer one. I propose Extension:WikiEditor – which it the most common one, easy to install and faster than the newer 2017 wikitext editor. |

The editor was removed in 1.30 and therefore people editing the
Arch Wiki see only a pure textarea, without any buttons to format
the text. This means that people who are not familiar with
Mediawiki syntax might feel it hard to format the article.

This needs to be discussed on the wiki first:
