Antergos is not Arch.
Comment by antonis (antouank) - Thursday, 28 September 2017, 14:28 GMT
Every time I get that response in those arch forums.
Yeah, I know. But 99% of the things for arch, apply to antergos.
If you have any idea on how to solve the problem, please let me know.
Saying that "antergos is not arch" doesn' help.

well its because you can report your bugs at antergos, not arch
Comment by antonis (antouank) - Thursday, 28 September 2017, 14:41 GMT
But I'm using this package, the "arch" one, it's the same repository. Why does it matter which distro is using it on top?

Anyway, thanks for replying. I'll try to solve it on my own.
I don't understand why you are pushing people away like this.

Actually, I am getting this too, on pure Arch. Out of curiosity, I attached GDB to the process from the outside, and it apparently hung on __kernel_vsyscall (). I *may* be able to get more information, but I'm not completely sure.

I tried a couple of times to remove the `.steam` directories and install again.
I'm now getting stuck at the `Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(steam)/version(0)` line.
The LD_PRELOAD error is not coming up anymore.

Only thing I can assume is breaking it, is the nvidia upgrade that happened ( https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/nvidia/ ). But I don't know how to go further. I get no error or something to look into.

It's either nvidia or the sdl2 update.

Just ran an update again

extra/libxnvctrl 384.69-1 -> 384.90-1
extra/nvidia-settings 384.69-1 -> 384.90-1
multilib/lib32-nvidia-utils 384.69-1 -> 384.90-1
multilib/lib32-opencl-nvidia 384.69-1 -> 384.90-1

Seems to be solved now.

Does not appear to help in my case, as all of those packages are up to date at 384.90-1, and I have reinstalled them to make sure that is the case.

Here's a backtrace of the hung process, if it helps any:

AHHH ahhhhh never mind, the repository I was using was just slow to update. I got it now.
