DetailsDescription:
Since upgrading to Gnome 3.26 in the [gnome-unstable] repository, the system search within Activities does not return any results besides the currently installed programs. The search no longer returns any files, local or remote, weather, web searches, contacts etc. The search function is entirely broken with the exception of searching installed programs, which is a shame because the redesigned search was one of Gnome 3.26's biggest changes. I would be happy to provide any additional information, but will likely need some help with figuring that out. I have been using Arch for a long time now, but still have no idea how to debug the Gnome shell. Steps to reproduce: 1. Enable the [gnome-unstable] repo in your /etc/pacman.conf. 2. Run pacman -Syu to fully update gnome. 3. Reboot and attempt to use the activities search. |

Is tracker-miners installed? Without this package, tracker will not index files.

Yes, I just checked and that package is installed. I also tested tracker's functionality from the terminal and it returns correct search results. The issue is just that gnome-shell won't show anything other than installed apps.
