Is your system up to date? There's a new patched Firefox version.

this question is for me?

Andreas Radke hmm, is that the problem with Firefox? My Firefox is indeed not up to date, because I downgraded Firefox to 54 version, and locked due to a bunch of upstream regressions (mainly because of dropping XUL, and thus making Pentadactyl unusable, whereas Pentadactyl is very crucial to me).

I didn't have time to see if there are any other apps with the problem, but if it's a bug of Firefox, not FreeType, then I guess we can close the bug, and I'd rather search ways to move away from using Firefox.

It's something I eventually have to do anyway, so. I can as well do that now.
