Same request as  FS#42130 : "Please add provides=(notification-daemon) so that packages depending on a notification daemon will find this dependency satisfied and not attempt to install another, unnecessary notification daemon."
I'm not 100% sure if this package is the one that provides the notification-daemon, but I have high hopes :)

I'm a bit confused here, kdebase-runtime already provides this, as the bug report you linked states. I'm not a KDE user, but I assume this is because kdebase-runtime implements the notification daemon, do you have a reason to think this is incorrect?

If so, that provides should probably be removed from there at the same time. ;)

kdebase-runtime is one of the core package of kde4, and plasma-workspace is one of the core package of kde5. Both of these packages provides the notification-daemon. I'm using plasma-meta (kde5) so I don't have the kdebase-runtime package, but I still have a notification-daemon (but pacman doesn't know it yet).

Oh, well yeah that makes sense then. :D

And checking the filelists:
kdebase-runtime provides /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.kde.knotify.service
plasma-workspace provides /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.kde.plasma.Notifications.service

Not convinced that these notification-daemon provides are useful at all, but I guess it makes sense for consistency.
