CD coverart fetching doesn't seem to be working.

Here's my error output while running:

Maybe something wrong with dbus?

The dbus error doesn't look right to me, but something tells me you're running some unofficial package that still depends on the old dbus. I can't reproduce the error messages. I don't know about cover fetching at this moment, as I don't have any music on this box here.

I have xaralx and google-earth installed from aur...neither of which have any implicitly specified dbus dependencies in their pkgbuilds...Other than that I'm running with extra, community, current, unstable and testing repos...nothing else installed outside of pacman.

Is there some other data I can provide? Or anyone else seen this?

You could try to run this from /usr/lib/mono:

grep -ri 'dbus-1.so.2' *

This should return a list of files looking for the old dbus library.

Confirming here. Banshee fails to retrieve cover art for audio cds.
grep -ri 'dbus-1.so.2' *
returns:

grep: gtk-sharp-2.0/policy.2.4.gconf-sharp-peditors.dll: No such file or directory
grep: gtk-sharp-2.0/policy.2.6.gconf-sharp-peditors.dll: No such file or directory
grep: gtk-sharp-2.0/policy.2.8.gconf-sharp-peditors.dll: No such file or directory

I also get the error above. Any packages I can rebuild to test this?

Jan, could it be because dbus-sharp is 0.63 and dbus is 0.93?

This works on post 0.11 cvs snapshots but only if notification-daemon is installed and avahi-daemon is running.

banshee has hardcoded references to the dbus library. The code in CVS handles bindings to dbus a bit different, so yes, those work fine. The reason why it worked on my system initially is because I did the hacky symlink trick after installing dbus on my system.

Banshee has been updated to work with the latest dbus. Does the cover art stuff work now?

Looks like it's downloading the album art now! thanks!
Is anyone else seeing 50-80% cpu usage and heavy system load while running banshee though? (My sysload is maxed just playing a song..)

Album art is working great for sure. Close this.
