Description:
The opened dialog of the Xfce Pulseaudio plugin will disappear immediatly if you click on an element inside the dialog. So it is impossible to adjust the volume this way.

This is not specific to this particular plugin. It is caused by the gtk3 3.22.18 update. See https://redd.it/6sjdaj.

3.22.18-2 did /not/ fix it. This looks like https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=786029 , which has a patch attached that xubuntu is now shipping.
