Description:
A newly installed archlinux system. Did "pacman -Syyu".
I got the following error when starting firefox from the command line:
XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/lib/firefox/libmozgtk.so:
lkbglib-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XPCOM

Note that "lkbglib" in the error message is not a typo. So I made a symbolic link to the correct libglib-2.0 library. Then it complained about another missing file libc.so.v. I made another link to libc.so.6. That didnot work either. It showed segmentation fault.

Similar problem shows also for thunderbird and chromium. So does it for an AUR package "firefox-esr-bin".

Additional info:
* package version(s)
firefox 55.0-1
thunderbird 52.2.1-1
chromium 60.0.3112.90-1
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:

an update:
The problem lies when the gtk3-3.22.18-1 was installed. It generated the following error when probing GTK3 input method modules:
/usr/bin/gtk-query-immodules-3.0: error while loading shared libraries: lkbglib-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I don't have this bug,

the problem could be a buggy custom gtk3 theme if you use gnome, try with another gtk theme,

it seems that you have a bad configuration for the mirror in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist,

select a mirror "up to date" in order to avoid problems
