DetailsDescription:
pstricks uses ps2pdf (provided by ghostscript) as backend, and produces empty intermediate output files without further error when it's missing. I found the error quite difficult to diagnose. I don't know if more of the texlive packages might have the same dependency issue, none of the ones in the "texlive-most" group depends on ghostscript. Additional info: * package version(s): texlive-pstricks-2017.44511-1 Steps to reproduce: Use pstricks with latex or xelatex without ghostscript installed. I used psbarcode in a pspicture. Output errors will be (for xelatex) similar to: xdvipdfmx:fatal: File ended prematurely Although the error was in xelatex while running pstricks, and not in xdvipdfmx I've attached a test latex file, and output logs. |
