Description:

Hugin does not display itself properly, clearing background root wallpaper. Some sub-windows are not even showed (for example the "find control points" dialog). Probably a gtk3/wxwidgets problem as the terminal says :

Additional info:

* openbox 3.6.1-3
* Hugin 2017.0.0-1
* gtk3 3.22.17-1
* wxgtk3 3.0.3.1-7

Steps to reproduce:

Launch Hugin. Move its main window to restore the background wallpaper (as shown in the attached file). Add some photos in assistant view, start aligning them automatically. The alignment is done but the progress window is not showed as expected.

Probably a gtk bug, when I start qemu (it has a new small graphical menu in it now) I get similar messages (but no screen corruption)

Wow. I can definitely reproduce, but I have no idea how to go about fixing this.
What's weird is I have no compositor and only a minimalistic window manager...
That's certainly not a hugin bug, so I'm reassigning this to our gtk experts.

Unassigning myself as there's not much I can contribute here. FTR, it works fine for me in Plasma. I'd suggest switching back to gtk2, wxgtk2 isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Fair enough. We'll go back to using wxgtk2 for now.

So hugin is at 2019 now, I’m trying wxgtk3 again. The package is in [community-testing], please try and tell me if you can still reproduce (no issue on Plasma here, just as before).

Aborted (core dumped)

Looks like it doesn't work again? Is it the same bug?
Comment by Bruno Pagani (ArchangeGabriel) - Monday, 01 July 2019, 15:07 GMT
Likely not, because you are having a core dump while other people only had issues in display. You should report upstream.
