Details

Starting gdmsetup from the gnome desktop via 'Desktop->Administration->Login Window' crashes gdmsetup shortly after typing the root password. Starting gdmsetup from login screen works fine.

Additional comments about closing:  gtk 2.10.4-2 fixes this crasher.

I'm running gnome 2.16 from the testing repository and I can't reproduce this, so I guess this is fixed in the 2.16 versions of gdm.

Hi Jan, after the last gtk update (2.10.4-2) gdmsetup works fine.
