xdg-user-dirs-gtk-update can run on XFCE, no?
~/gtk-3.0/bookmarks will be created (or ~/.gtk-bookmarks updated if it already exists), Thunar will display user dirs in "Places", and GTK file dialogs will show them. I find these shortcuts very handy. Because other GTK based DEs already have them by default (GNOME, MATE), consider adding XFCE to user-dirs-update-gtk.desktop. |

Here's the bug that upstream has been ignoring (just like they are ignoring the similar bug for MATE): https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33107
(note: I meant ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks in first post)
