DetailsI created PKGBUILDs in aur that allowed to compile madwifi module with raw packet insertion patch. This patch is needed for aircrack-ng to work properly. As my pkgbuild were deleted due to the duplication with [extra]'s madwifi package, I am asking here for inclusion of this patch in [extra]'s madwifi package. The patch itself can be found here: http://patches.aircrack-ng.org/ . From my expirience, I had no problems with madwifi patched for raw packets insertion.

I have been able to run aircrack-ng with the current madwifi driver just fine, is this still a bug? Has the patch been merged into the upstream madwifi source?

The patch is needed only for some of the features of aircrack-ng (raw packet inserting, i.e. aireplay tool). It won't work without the patch.

What are the aircrack-ng arguments that won't work? I have been able to run replay attacks using aireplay, but I've only done fake authentication and ARP injection.

Is this still needed? How actively is the patch maintained?

I it's not worth it, madwifi is at the end of its life since the ath5k is approaching.
