Summary and Info:
Pacman does not have a feature to select a group or package when both have the same name. This has especially become of significance now with the plasma group from KDE. When attempting to install the Plasma group, pacman conflicts with the plasma-870.d42219b-1 package. I had to resort to individually installing every single package in the plasma group. I can see such a problem occuring in the future with other packages and groups in the same scenario.

Steps to Reproduce:
pacman -S plasma

pacman -Sqg plasma | pacman -S -

Thank you very much, this seemed to resolve the issue.

  • Field changed: Priority (Normal → Low)
This is a workaround, but does not allow the use of the group package selection dialog. Leaving open at low priority.
