DetailsDescription:
Version 4.0.6-2 of the kicad package does not contain the program cvpcb. There is a launcher for it in /usr/share/applications/cvpcb.desktop but the binary does not exist. While /usr/bin/_cvpcb.kiface exists trying to launch it directly from kicad crashes kicad. I have no idea if this is related or an independent bug. |

Additional comments about closing: Is for for the very ancient kicad 4.0, we are on 5.1 and sooon 6.0. I think this can be closed. cvpcb is no longer a "standalone" app, but merely a dialog of eeschema.

They say to run eeschema and then launch cvpcb from there via the toolbar. This works. (It might generate some harmless warnings.) I believe there is no problem, just some confusion on your part.
if there is no corresponding binary to avoid confusing users.
