Please change it to pull a fixed commit instead, otherwise builds are not reproducible and checksums are incorrect when a new commit is pushed.

The current PKGBUILD uses https://github.com/POV-Ray/povray/archive/3.7-stable.zip, which does not change when new commits are made to the POVRay project.

Yes, it does change. That points to the current head of the 3.7-stable branch. The checksum had to be updated for the last two rebuilds.

Maybe you can change to a release-tag - similar to the attached patch?
But honestly, I have no idea, what this package is and how to (not) break it, I just checked, that it still builds with the attached patch - in other words: I don't expect you to use this patch.
