Description:

After upgrading from nvidia 378-13 to 381.22 GDM no longer loads up when WaylandEnabled=false is set in /etc/gdm/custom.conf.

Due to this and  FS#53284  (mesa/glvnd cause wayland to be extremely unresponsive) 381.22 is effectively unusable (at least for me).

Package info:
$ pacman -Qs nvidia
local/lib32-nvidia-utils 378.13-3
local/libvdpau 1.1.1-2
local/libxnvctrl 378.13-1
local/nvidia-dkms 378.13-6
local/nvidia-settings 378.13-1
local/nvidia-utils 378.13-6

Steps to reproduce:
- Uncomment "WaylandEnable=false" in /etc/gdm/custom.conf
- Reboot
- Observe GDM does not launch (tty1 shows boot output instead of GDM, able to switch tty)

Seems to be fixed by either linux 4.11.2 or nvidia-dkms 381.22-2
