Description:

In libva 1.8.0 upstream has split of tools like vainfo into a separate package called libva-utils .

Arch Linux devs did not add a package for libva-utils to official repos or communicated a reason for the missing functionality in libva.

Several bug reports were created , but all have been closed very fast.
Whether libva maintainer and other AL devs are even aware of this issue remains a mystery.

For those that urgently need libva tools seanvk has uploaded a libva-utils package to AUR,
see https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libva-utils/ .

This issue has been present for approx a month now and needs to be solved.

In my opinion there are 2 ways to handle this :

1. Add libva-utils to official repos and mention it in libva as a new optional dependency

2. decide libva-utils don't belong in offical repos anymore and alert users of libva of the vanished functionality ASAP.
