Because they are code examples for developers and not meant to be executed by anyone (especially not end users). There is absolutely no reason to include them in the package and install them to /usr/bin.

Upstream installs them by default and doesn't even provide a configure flag to prevent it. They could be useful for developers and they don't conflict with anything else, so I personally see no reason to remove them.
Anyway, this package is orphan, leaving this open for a future maintainer to decide.
