Description:

After updating vim-runtime and gvim from 8.0.0427-1 to 8.0.0586-2, the fonts in gvim have become very tiny. Downgrading these two packages solves the issue.

See screenshot. Before the update (with normal size fonts) on the left, and after the update (with tiny fonts).

Let me know if you need more details.

You probably just need to configure gtk3 like you have gtk2 configured

Thanks for the pointer, I didn't see that gvim had switched from crappy gtk2 to crappier gtk3 between these two versions.

Turns out gtk3 was properly configured (although I need to setup a font size of 12 in ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini, when it was fine with a font size of 8 in ~/.gtkrc-2.0 -- go figure...), but I needed to bump the font size in .gvimrc as well. Switched from 6.5 to 11 and now things are looking as good as before.

I wish gtk would get their act together in terms of operability with KDE...
