After upgrading from GNOME 3.22.x to 3.24.1 gnome-boxes no longer launches any more, although I did get it working a few times after the upgrade, all that happens now is that I get this output in Terminal:

(gnome-boxes:12255): Boxes-WARNING **: util-app.vala:309: Failed to read file /proc/modules: Error opening file /proc/modules: Permission denied

(gnome-boxes:12255): Libvirt.GObject-CRITICAL **: gvir_storage_vol_get_info: assertion 'GVIR_IS_STORAGE_VOL(vol)' failed
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Earlier today when I tried to launch it, it also failed and exited with:

Failed to register: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message recipient disconnected from message bus without replying

Occasionally the GUI for gnome-boxes is briefly shown before it crashes, but it hasn't done so for the last several tries to get it to launch.

I have attached the core dumps I get from journalctl.

I can't reproduce the problem. Please report it to upstream:
