DetailsDescription:
After updating to kernel 4.10.8, the (wired) network connection drops when waking from suspend, and attempting to kill dhcpcd after the drop freezes the system. I noticed that it is enough to take the wired interface up and down twice in a row to experience the freeze. The problem is fixed by recompiling r8168 with linux-headers-4.10.8. Additional info: * package version(s): r8168-8.044.02-5, linux-4.10.8-1 * hardware: Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 0a) Steps to reproduce: (as root, replace 'enp4s0f2' by the appropriate interface name) ip link set enp4s0f2 up ip link set enp4s0f2 down ip link set enp4s0f2 up ip link set enp4s0f2 down |
