Details

Description: With the new additional configuration

Section "OutputClass"
Identifier "intel"
MatchDriver "i915"
Driver "modesetting"
EndSection

in the file 10-nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf I can not activate my external HDMI Display anymore.
I have a HP ZBOOK 15 with Optimus using bumblebee, and HDMI is wired to nvidia chip.

Additional info:
* package version(s) nvidia-utils 378.13-5
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:

If I remove the new intel OutputClass in 10-nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf, everything works again.

Alternatively, following
http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/321151/do-not-manage-to-activate-hdmi-on-a-laptop-that-has-optimus-bumblebee

adding

Section "Device"
Identifier "intelgpu0"
Driver "intel"
Option "VirtualHeads" "2"
EndSection

to the file 10-nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf also fixes my issue.

Just creating the file

/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf

Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
EndSection

as recommended in the Wiki entry for "Intel graphics" fixes the issue for me as well.

intel-virtual-output only works with Intel DDX. Simply change the line:
Driver "modesetting"
to
Driver "intel"
and it should work again.

Ah ok, thanks a lot. Maybe this information should make it to the Wiki.
