Problem:
The most recent change (1.2.1-12) changes the _debpatch variable in the PKGBUILD to 49, so the package now attempts to retrieve the file http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/j/jade/jade_1.2.1-49.diff.gz during installation. This file does not exist, so the installation fails.

Fix:
Browsing the index view of the debian repos (http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/j/jade/) sees that jade_1.2.1-47.3.diff.gz exists (which jade 1.2.1-11 uses), but not the current package. I don't know if this package previously existed. I AM NOT familiar with anything about debian but a quick internet search makes it seem like the current version is supposed to be 47.3 (see https://packages.debian.org/sid/text/jade).

Reverting the debpatch and the md5 sum changes from the PKGBUILD made installation work (the BROKEN 1.2.1-12 change is at https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/commit/trunk?h=packages/jade&id=c0c88f3a6db37a0cbe1afe8969e2cb879f8a5ccc). The patch:

Reason for closing:  Won't fix
Additional comments about closing:  Jade has been removed now. Use openjade.

Debian removed jade from their repositories because they replaced it with openjade and opensp.
