DetailsI noticed that my rhythmbox install stopped playing MP3 files after an upgrade (a long time ago). I was able to fix the problem by installing gstreamer0.10-mad. Perhaps gnome-media (one of rhythmbox's dependencies) used to include gstreamer0.10-mad, but maybe it was removed for patent reasons. Anyway, assuming my installation is not borked and that the dependency is actually missing, either the message in the install script should be changed or the dependency on gstreamer0.10-mad should be re-added to rhythmbox or gnome-media.

Reason for closing: Fixed
Additional comments about closing: gstreamer0.10-mad is a dependency nowadays and gnome-media includes profiles for mp3.
