I have my root on lvm. I have the following grub configuration:

title Arch Linux, kernel 2.6.x
root (hd1,0)
kernel /vmlinuz26 root=/dev/mapper/vg-arch_root vga=775
initrd /kernel26.img

While it boots, it looks like it tries to mount the device /dev/mapper/vg_arch_root as the root device.
(Note the undercore after the vg instead of the dash). Then there's a kernel panic.

Versions: kernel26-2.6.17.11-1, mkinitcpio 0.5.4-1, lvm2 2.02.09-1

are you running also latest klic, klibc-extras and klibc-udev from testing?

please try mkinitcpio 0.5.5, it should fix your problem

yes. I've upgraded mkinitcpio, generated a new image, rebooted and it works. Thanks!
