Anjuta seems to work only with glade-2. I tried to symlink glade-3 to glade-2, but even then it seems to be little communication between anjuta and glade.

Anjuta 1.x was designed with glade-2 in mind. Glade 3 was designed as a plugin for development environments and it lacks some features ( code generation? ) which was present on glade 2, thus making it incompatible with older development environments.

When a user made a gui using glade2, it generates some source files that append to the anjuta project that handles control events.

But when a user made a gui using glade2, no code is generated, so you either: (1) generate the same code by hand, or (2) use a glade3 compatible development environment like the Anjuta 2.x series which will now on take the job of the gui code, and ATM, there is no stable development environment.
