We have been a Tier 2 mirror for many years (https://www.archlinux.org/mirrors/csclub.uwaterloo.ca/). In the last year, we upgraded our physical hardware and increased bandwidth capacity.

I should add that we also have redundant links to the internet (see https://uwaterloo.ca/information-systems-technology/about/organizational-structure/technology-integrated-services-tis/network-services-resources/external-connections for more information). We are limited by the University's IT department to a maximum 1Gbps on each internet link.

I've promoted you to tier 1.

Please switch to one of the *_tier1 modules on "rsync://rsync.archlinux.org". You'll probably want "rsync://rsync.archlinux.org/ftp_tier1". Reply here once you've switched so I can close this request.

If you want to sync more often than once an hour, please consider using a script like this[1] to reduce the amount of rsync traffic when there are no changes.

Thanks. Our mirror is now syncing from rsync://rsync.archlinux.org/ftp_tier1. It is currently set to do so every 10 minutes using the script mentioned above.
