Description:

When connecting to a new wireless network, nm-applet will usually open a GUI window that prompts for a password.

However, when gnome-keyring is missing, it will instead just silently fail and display "could not connect". I can still connect by clicking "edit connection" and manually entering the password under "Security settings".

I'm not sure whether there's any other software (apart from gnome-keyring) which also allows nm-applet to prompt for passwords.

I'm using i3wm without any desktop environment; I assume that usually desktop environments that have nm-applet will also have gnome-keyring.

Additional info:
* network-manager-applet 1.4.4-3
* gnome-keyring 1:3.20.0+16+gbf8aa97-1

Steps to reproduce:
* Have a system which has network-manager-applet but not gnome-keyring (e.g. a fresh install with X11 and i3wm)
* Start nm-applet
* Click the icon, attempt to connect to a new wireless network
