Summary and Info:
It is not possible to create skype account in telepathy even if required packages are present. I am not sure if step #2 is needed but without it haze dbus service is not available. Account creation does not work regardless of starting or not starting telepathy-haze manually. telepathy-haze also outputs some critical errors: (haze:2827): purple/plugins-CRITICAL **: /usr/lib/purple-2/libjabber.so is not usable because the 'purple_init_plugin' symbol could not be found. Does the plugin call the PURPLE_INIT_PLUGIN() macro? (haze:2827): purple/plugins-CRITICAL **: /usr/lib/purple-2/liboscar.so is not usable because the 'purple_init_plugin' symbol could not be found. Does the plugin call the PURPLE_INIT_PLUGIN() macro? (haze:2827): purple/plugins-CRITICAL **: /usr/lib/purple-2/libymsg.so is not usable because the 'purple_init_plugin' symbol could not be found. Does the plugin call the PURPLE_INIT_PLUGIN() macro? (haze:2827): purple/prefs-CRITICAL **: Error reading prefs: Failed to open file '/etc/purple/prefs.xml': No such file or directory I checked - no package provides /etc/purple/prefs.xml. Versions: * telepathy-haze 0.8.0-1 * purple-skypeweb 1.2.2-1 * libpurple 2.11.0-2 * kde-applications 16.12.1-1 Steps to Reproduce: 1. pacman -S telepathy telepathy-haze purple-skypeweb 2. Run HAZE_PERSIST=1 HAZE_DEBUG=all /usr/lib/telepathy/telepathy-haze 3. Go to system settings > online accounts and try to create skype account Result: Error message: This IM Account cannot be created - a Telepathy Connection Manager named 'haze' is missing or it cannot handle protocol 'skypeweb'. Expected result: Account should be created. |
