This is fixed in Flex's master branch: https://github.com/westes/flex/commit/f5d87f1a26f4a5c3402497008ae10e9a1345d327

Because this bug is so disruptive, I suggest rebuilding the Arch package from the above commit and calling it flex-2.6.3-20170122-1.
