libgnome-keyring is not on our "kill" list at this moment. There's several (maintained!) projects that still use libgnome-keyring, so if you want to change this situation, I'm happy to accept patches (and upstream also I guess).

libgnome-keyring is used by the node-keytar nodejs module. There is a patch available to use libsecret instead, but not accepted or merged yet:

But libgnome-keyring will stay in the official repositories for a long time, so it's not a big issue.
