Description:

I have trouble launching VLC from Gnome and also from a terminal.
When I click the VLC icon there is no response.
Additional info:
* package version(s) VLC media player 2.2.4-6
* config and/or log files etc.

But I am able to run VLC if i invoked 'vlc --reset-plugins-cache' on a terminal.
But it doesn't reset or fix the errors though.


can you fix this?

what's the output of 'pacman -Qs freetype'?

I had infinality installed and I reinstalled the stock version of freetype and fontconfig and vlc works fine.
