Description: pawm is not working. It was last updated to the current latest version on 2014-07-01 and is unmaintained since according to the upstream page
https://sites.google.com/site/pleyadestest/david/projects/pawm
Doesn't seem to be in Fedora, Debian or Ubuntu repos by now:
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/packages/pawm*/
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?suite=default&section=all&arch=any&keywords=pawm&searchon=names
https://packages.debian.org/search?suite=default&section=all&arch=any&searchon=names&keywords=pawm
So maybe removing it from the community repo as well?
Additional info:
* package version(s) pawm 2.3.0
* depends=('libxft' 'libxpm' 'libxrandr')
* kernel 4.8.13-1-ARCH
* dell vostro a860
* system is up to date
* have not tried this window manager before, so can't tell how well it worked in the past.
Steps to reproduce: install pawm, add exec pawm to .xinitrc, startx, bluescreen with the mouse pointer appears for a moment, then X session automatically closes
* config and/or log files etc.

The Xorg log doesn't help because the problem isn't in Xorg. Check the journal.

That log seems to end before startx. I guess it's possible nothing is getting logged from the failure, but that would be unusual.
Comment by Artem (i7220) - Sunday, 08 January 2017, 03:25 GMT
just doubled checked and got exactly the same output for journalctl -b. I saved it but i guess it will be of little help to double-post it. I did notice however that first time you try to startx to pawm, when it kicks you back to tty1, you can see the message stating BUG [288] [pawindow_init] xinit: connection to X server lost. Waiting for X server to shut down (III) Server terminated succefully (0). Closing log file. Also the number in brackets could be different. Google is not helpful in investigating the problem, and the documentation seems rather lacking: no man entries, no info on the upstream webpage.
