DetailsI just installed txt2tags 2.6-4 and I saw that it added a program called gensite in /usr/bin. No documentation was available for it, and there was no `--help' switch. So, what would you do? I just ran it. And it randomly started deleting files in my home directory! I am now afraid to find out what all the program did! It is possible that it deleted only empty directories. (Can someone take a look at the script -- linked below -- and tell me?)
This may be regarded as a feature request, but it is more like a bug, as a program should not delete stuff without confirming it. I tried to contact gensite's author about this, but the Contact Form on his site did not accept my message. I have attached the whole output. Extract from the attached file: Deleting 'Desktop', as the directory is now empty. Deleting '.vim/autoload', as the directory is now empty. Deleting '.vim/bundle', as the directory is now empty. Deleting '.cache/Otter/prepared', as the directory is now empty. ... Deleting '.config/libreoffice/4/user/config/soffice.cfg/modules/sweb/images', as the directory is now empty. Deleting '.config/libreoffice/4/user/config/soffice.cfg/modules/sweb/menubar', as the directory is now empty. Deleting '.config/libreoffice/4/user/config/soffice.cfg/modules/sweb/toolbar', as the directory is now empty. Deleting '.config/libreoffice/4/user/config/soffice.cfg/modules/sweb', as the directory is now empty. ... 2) Also, txt2tags supplies a /usr/bin/dynartslides, and I couldn't make out what it does either.
