Description:

Nvidia released drivers which support Xorg ABI version 23 on 14 Dec 2016, but those new drivers have yet to be updated in the Arch Repo. The nvidia-340xx and nvidia-304xx packages are flagged out-of-date.

X11 is completely broken for folks with the out-of-date nvidia-340xx and nvidia-304xx drivers. I had to switch to nouveau in the meantime

Additional info:
Current versions:

extra/nvidia-340xx 340.98-4
extra/nvidia-304xx 304.132-2

Versions that work with newest X11:

nvidia-340xx 340.101
nvidia-304xx 304.134

Steps to reproduce:

1) Have an older nvidia card and install corresponding driver.
2) Enable testing repository
3) Upgrade to latest version of X11
4) Restart
