Description: It's most likely the same problem as in DKMS package:

But initcpio(s) get regenerated when installing linux-zen-docs, etc...

I've only updated linux-zen-docs, and i get this:

Not at all the same problem, and not one that I'm seeing. I just installed linux-docs and it didn't regenerate the initcpios.

I'm guessing you updated something else that included a mkinitcpio hook?
