Description:
Mplayer is listed as the only dependency for devede to run, while the program explicitly lists that it only needs one in it's "Programs needed by Devede" section. Quote: Movie players (install at least one of these): VLC (not installed) MPV (installed) MPLAYER (not installed) I uninstalled the mplayer using pacman -Rsdd mplayer (I have mpv installed) and the program seems to run file. I think the player requirement should be handled similar to the xorg-server dependencies (libgl and xf86-input-driver) where you can choose one. Additional packages installed with mplayer can be safely ignored after installing, as I think devede uses mplayer at last, so MPV or VLC will be used first when installed, but it would be nice to not have it as dependency to avoid downloading, installing and maintaining potentially unneeded packages on users' system. Additional info: * Tested with devede-4.8.5-1 Steps to reproduce: - install devede package - install other required player (MPV VLC) package - forecfully remove mplayer package - test if the program behaves correctly (it should) |
