Description: Signatures with pictures will cause the body section of an new or reply email to stop working after about a minutes time.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
evolution-3.22.1+8+gf95d465-1

* config and/or log files etc.
None, but there is some chatter on the issue here. I am not the only one experiencing it.

Steps to reproduce:

First I open Evolution via the shell so I can see any messages that occur.

When I go to add a signature in Evolution and insert a picture, I get the following error.

Gtk-Message: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. This is discouraged.

Once I apply the signature to a filled out e-mail, I have about a minute before I get several errors and the body window stops working. It is important to have content in the e-mail first. Just applying the signature does not seem to cause the error.

Here are the related error messages when the body portion of the e-mail stops working. Again, it takes about a minute for this to start.

evolution(13746): WebKitWebProcess (page id 11) for EWebKitEditor crashed
evolution(13746): Failed to call a DBus Proxy method org.gnome.Evolution.WebExtension.EWebKitEditor.WC0x7f3994045d00::DOMRemoveEmbeddedStyleSheet: Message recipient disconnected from message bus without replying
evolution(13746): EHTMLEditorWebExtension not ready at webkit_editor_set_element_attribute!
evolution(13746): EHTMLEditorWebExtension not ready at webkit_editor_set_element_attribute!
evolution(13746): EHTMLEditorWebExtension not ready at webkit_editor_set_element_attribute!

If you are outside of the e-mail window, you will only see the crash. The not ready message repeats itself once you return to the email window, where the body is now just gone.

I believe this was fixed in upstream here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=772803%C2%A0

Not to say that the change in the inline image loop will not solve the problem, but that description is quite different, as are the error messages. The errors that we are experiencing are consistent with having images in our signatures, and is not limited to replies. A new message with an image signature will kick off the error. It is also worth noting that everything seems fine for about a minute before the error loop that we are seeing kicks off.

I have installed 3.22.2-1 which was out after their commits, but I am still seeing the issue.

Yes I also do not believe this is the same as bug id 772803. Steps to reproduce and error messages are different. After losing one too many half composed replies I have now reverted to Thunderbird.

Yeah, that's fair. I found it on their mailing list and although the errors were different, the problems were similar (HTML mode = blank screen), so I was thinking it was all the same. I misread the commit messages in that bug and was thinking there was a 3.23.1 package yet to be built that was the only thing that held the fix. On re-reading I see it should be in what we have in Arch currently. Sorry for the mistake.

Is this still an issue with 3.26?
