Details

Description:
with the open drivers and the runtime of steam the app fails to launch, it can be fixed with native runtime or dynamic linker
may it can be default for the installs or it will be incompatible with amd and nvidia privative drivers?
each time steam is upgraded from arch repos the config file for dynamic linker and steam is rewritten and it is very annoying

what kind of configuration are you adding and to which file? you should not edit files that are shipped by a package (except configuration files of cause).
You should also simply use the native runtime via /usr/bin/steam-native that will be the default anyway.

I'll try to use steam native and I will tell you if steam is launched without errors or not, thanks, but in the steam installation with no special configs it is impossible to open with pc's with open drivers, checked by me with intel dri and amd graphics...

are you sure you have the correct libgl provider for your driver available? Right now i don't see why it shouldn't work.

I am talking about the last update of steam and official mesa, it is imposible to open steam for this:

I have to export the native libgl's alwayswith fglrx is not needed but with opens source drivers yes, and always is the same.. I don't know why, have you try to open steam in a haswell pc with an standard installation of steam?

steam runtime: I'm still pretty sure you have not installed your libgl provider for your graphics card, check that you have lib32-mesa-dri or lib32-catalyst-utils depending on what you use.

furthermore the steam-native looks altered, it won't abort just because a variable is unassigned so i feel like you have modified the scripts in some way. if you did, please restore to an unchanged state.

here you can see what I have installed, the error is here, in my pc with haswell and with the other laptop with radeon open source drivers, I think i have all the dependencies installed.. you can see in other bugs this error ...

but in the other laptop the error show the radeon libs.. not intel , it is the only difference

Well but the steam.sh won't just fail because you have an unassigned variable so i still suspect that some changed were done to it inside your ~/.local/share/Steam. Maybe you forgot about them? make sure that this directory is fresh and unchanged.

Try running steam in debug mode by setting STEAM_DEBUG=1 in front of the command.

but now with steam native I can run steam :), it is a weird thing that with steam the error is the same when unpack the runtime

So it was indeed some changes that you have done to your steam files :)
The symbol problem is why we created steam-native because the steam runtime is shit. undifined xcb_send_request_with_fds is an upstream problem within the steam runtime itself.

You should run steam-native for now, in some future that will be the normal steam. If there are reasons why you must try normal steam then you could try with LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE=1 in your case (but only for non native-steam).

but if I open steam and install a game, when I launch the game without steam running the game is goign to be open with steam or steam native?

No clue about the desktop icons if you mean those but i suppose they use steam. just run them from your steam library for now.

no clue what you mean, just start via 'steam-native' and play games from the steam that runs that way.

so as this is general upstream wonkyness (and the reason for steam-native's existence) is there anything still open/unclear or can i close this one?
