Details

"Connection to server mail.xxxx.sg timeed out". Cannot receive or send mails. In my KMail with same setting, works fine.

I can't do anything with this bugreport. First, make sure you're not in offline mode. second, make sure your server settings are correct. Do you use different ports, etc?

If you do use different ports... this reminds me about an old bug, but can't find reference to it in our bugtracker. AFAIK it was something with specifying hostname:port as servername, somehow port settings were ignored in thunderbird.

The setting in KMail and here is the same. Did a test with evolution, same problem. Could it be in a library dealing with the port?
