Running Arch in a VM in KVM, kernel 4.8.6-1-ARCH

Trying to load the virtio-rng module to make use of /dev/random from the host (Ubuntu 14.04):

sudo insmod virtio-rng

dmesg shows:

Additional comments about closing:  User requested: Ah, sorry, I didn't know any better. modprobe works. I used insmod before to load virtio_rng on Ubuntu and that worked. Apologies for the false alarm.

Why are you using insmod? Is this a typo of 'modprobe'? Did you build the virtio-rng module yourself?

No issues here when running Arch KVM on Arch. Maybe an Ubuntu problem...
