Is not a bug , seems this package as example is not optional for Evince as example, if this package is not, you cant print...could be gnome related, gtk3-print-backends is not buggy i gues, but like in evince not as optional. probably system-config-printer also not? optional means by optional depency |

Additional comments about closing: this package is in optdepends for gtk3.
We decided to split this package because it pulls in lots of dependencies for people not interested in printing.
