dont know how to solve it ... but the problem is this:

if a new version of mozilla or mozilla-SOMETHING comes out, it has empty plugins ... if flashplugin was installed, it has to be reinstalled to work with mozilla again (actually the updated mozilla asks to install flashplugin from the internet again, but you can then cancle, close mozilla and run "pacman -S flashplugin" what will bring back the plugin)

This task depends upon

maybe it has to do with you re-generating the ld cache, and so the browser is still hung up on the old version.

well, not really. The plugin just doesn't exist where it should until you re-install flashplugin.

The plugin installs to /opt/flashplugin and symlinks to /opt/mozilla/lib/mozilla/plugins which is a symlink to /opt/mozilla/lib/mozilla-$ver/plugins.
So the plugin won't get installed to a new mozilla-$ver directory until it is re-installed.

Oh, heh. Didn't look into it, that should be a trivial fix then.

dorph,
mind explaining the trivial fix? Xentac and I are banging our heads on the wall with this one... (other than removing the automatic symlink installer from all the plugin packages).
