lib32-sdl2 is missing some dependencies to have wayland support working. It is working in the sdl2 version, but not the lib32- one. My guess is that wayland-protocols is missing from the dependencies.

More generally, there a few differences between the sdl2 and lib32-sdl2 PKGBUILD. Maybe it would be best to have them sync'd.

It's not missing, the dependency on sdl2 brings it in. The only diff in the pkgbuild is the explicit disabling of ts input, which doesn't change anything because tslib is not present at build time.

The problem must lie elsewhere, what exactly isn't working ? Could you produce some log ?

Using SDL_VIDEODRIVER=wayland I just get "ERROR: Could not initialize SDL! wayland not available". Trying to find the string "Wayland" in libSDL2.so also produced no results. After rebuilding it myself, I would no longer get the error and find a few references to wayland inside libSDL2.so.

I mistook wayland-protocols for a dep of sdl2, but it's only a makedep, no wonder it didn't work. I just added it, thx for reporting it.
